ASPIRE Student Support Services strives to increase retention and graduation rates of first-generation students, students who meet federal low income criteria, and students with disabilities.

By creating and maintaining a supportive community and fostering a climate that values the social and cultural capital of our students, we aspire to empower them to maximize their potential and achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.


University of Wisconsin-Stout ASPIRE Student Support Services is funded by two federal TRIO grants.

ASPIRE Student Support Services provides:


  •  Personalized advising and support 
  •  Individualized writing support
  •  Individualized mathematics support
  •  Cultural activities
  •  Opportunity to earn priority registration
  •  Peer support and mentoring 
  •  Education regarding financial aid and financial literacy

ASPIRE Tutor Services:

ASPIRE offers math and writing assistance to members of the program. Please call 715.232.5180 to schedule an appointment.




  • Students who are first-generation (neither parent has a four-year degree) OR
  • Students who meet federal low income criteria OR
  • Students with a disability
    • For the purposes of this grant, disability includes physical, learning, or mental health diagnoses. Examples include but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, etc.
