What is the Mentorship Program?

In short, it’s way for you to bridge gaps in knowledge about conducting and disseminating research. Research Services selects one student mentor from each college to lead a research club. These three clubs meet monthly to provide information that demystifies the research process.

Why join the Mentorship Program?

Employers are looking for leaders and innovators. As a student mentor you take an active role in growing campus-wide research. As a club participant you gain knowledge that motivates relevant research projects that boosts your value to your chosen field and to potential employers. Student Mentors have done research and attended campus research events like Research Day so they understand the process. Forget the red tape and go right to the source so you can get your work recognized. Oh, and there will be free pizza.

How do I join the Mentorship Program?

Research Services will choose student mentors this summer. If you are interested in the position, contact Matthew Gundrum. Follow us on Facebook to learn more as clubs develop. Also, bookmark this page for additional updates about club meetings and happenings.

Can graduate students join?

All interested students are encouraged to participate.

What if I am new to research?

Then you will learn a lot by attending meetings arranged through this program. Everyone is welcome.
