As a Program Manager for the Discovery Center, Terese Wentworth leverages the resources of the university to serve business and industry, manufacturers, and the community. Her primary responsibilities include:

  • Center for Innovation and Development. Housed in the Discovery Center, the CID helps entrepreneurs develop their products using faculty, staff, and other campus resources. The CID helps entrepreneurs move their product forward through resource and materials advice, design and production connections, and collaboration with business, industry, and manufacturers.
  • Furthering Food Safety Workshops. This workshop is a professional development opportunity for food processors, teaching them innovative techniques for rapid detection of food-borne pathogens. Such early detection increases food safety and protects product brand.
  • WiFAB Retreats. With digital manufacturing a reality and Wisconsin schools acquiring fab lab equipment, this professional development opportunity helps teachers understand the design process and how to apply it in a fab lab. Using the design process, students learn teamwork, problem solving skills, the ability to weigh ideas, and prototyping. These are the skills of the 21st century.
  • Early Childhood Education Conference. Early childhood education professionals have come to rely on this conference for the latest in current research and best practices.  Offered every April, attendees look forward to learning hands-on tools and techniques they can take directly into their classrooms and childcare centers.

Ms. Wentworth's areas of interest include product development, process improvement, business growth, continuing education, leadership and culture development, and applied research.
