YoungStar mark

What is YoungStar? A number of states are developing Quality Rating and Improvement Systems(QRIS) to assess and improve the quality of early care and educational programs for children ages birth to five and older. Wisconsin’s system is called YoungStar. YoungStar is a five-star rating and improvement system for child care centers based on the:

  • education of providers.
  • children’s learning environment.
  • business practices of providers.
  • health and well-being of children.

All centers, both group and family, which are collecting Wisconsin Shares subsidy funds are required to be in YoungStar. All others may participate. Check the YoungStar website for updates as the system develops.
