Business Education For You

The Accelerated B.E.4U. program is offered through the joint efforts and resources contributed by Marketing and Business Education program faculty at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and University of Wisconsin-Stout. The program serves the business experience person possessing a degree in business administration, business finance, business management, marketing, or individuals with an MBA.  

University Partnership

The Business and Marketing Education programs at UW-Whitewater and UW-Stout are the choice programs of individuals seeking to teach under the WI Business Education 250, 281 and the WI Marketing Education 285 licenses. Both universities and their programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and are recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.


Did you know that Business Education…

  • is one of the seven Career and Technical Education (CTE) program areas offered in the comprehensive high school across the nation
  • evolves Business and Financial Literacy in students transitioning through to K-12 graduation
  • supports 21st Century Skills development in youth; thereby, evolving student capacity to succeed and thrive in an ever changing global and technological life and work paradigm
  • incorporates the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) FBLA as a professional networking and competitive learning venue for its students
  • employs a wide range of learning environments to engage students. Examples include: project based learning, simulations, laboratory, school-based enterprise, and work-based learning
  • provides a rich context that supports the common core or language arts, social and behavioral sciences, the life and physical sciences, and science, technology and mathematical competence.
  • is the most common Career and Technical Education program offered across the United States high schools


Program Attributes

  • BE4U is an accelerated distance delivery program; it accepts student inquiries on an ongoing basis.
  • The online initial teaching certification coursework begins in the summer of 2013.
  • Attend full time in order to complete licensure in one calendar year (one summer session and two semesters, including student teaching)
  • Full-time certification program leading to Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction 250 Business Education licensure.  


The B.E.4U program is for you if you…

  • do not currently possess a teaching license but wish to enter the teaching profession as a licensed Wisconsin Business Education teacher via the DPI BE 250 General Business Education licensure.
  • are passionate, enjoy working with youth, and have a deep interest and desire to engage in the teaching profession you are a candidate for this program.  
  • can visualize being a creative, engaging, leader of student learning that can motivate middle and high school students to pursue a program of study in the business, marketing career pathways.
  • are a business professional who is ready to positively impact emerging generations of business managers, owners, and entrepreneurs
  • have volunteered your time and business expertise in the community and in our schools.
  • have been a Junior Achievement volunteer and enjoyed your interaction with students and teachers that you encountered.
  • simply want to become an active and engaged teacher aiming to see that youth is prepared with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required in a world of ever-changing life and work dynamics.
