The coalition is also galvanizing action groups within the community around the identified emergent issues by hosting a capacity-building conference on campus on July 16. This conference is a structured response to teach capacity-building and collective action as it relates to leadership and public health.

In order to move coalition work forward, a meeting was held on May 20 that invited key stakeholders to participate in formalizing the structure of the coalition. This meeting organized key stakeholders to brainstorm a coalition structure so that the group can operate efficiently and transparently moving forward.

Future coalition meetings will: define the mission, values, membership, connectivity to other coalition groups, the formation of an assessment action team, organize an ad hoc conference planning committee for future meetings, as well as form other active work groups, etc.
